What an amazing transformation Alison has made during her time with us. She was a client that had never really worked out before, so there was definitely some apprehension to starting a fitness program. luckily Alison is a quick learner + a hard worker so she adapted to the weight training relatively well. Initially Alison mad some significant improvements in both strength + weight loss (about 45lbs).
Eventually though, she hit a plateau that was proving nearly impossible to break. It turned out that nutrition was definitely a problem. Despite understanding the principles of nutrition, thermodynamics + weight loss, Alison was still struggling. turns out that she struggled with both portion size (even of “healthy” foods) and occasional binges (usually on highly palatable, calorically dense “unhealthy”: foods). This plateau drove Alison to take the next step and undergo gastric bypass surgery. once the procedure was completed, she was really able to take her training + weightloss to the next level.
She ended up losing over 111 pounds, dropping her body fat % by 20 + a total of 57 inches around her body. Not only that, she’s gotten so much stronger, more flexible, is pain free + able to run again.
